, the Hua Yuan VC Group and Red Herring magazine are slated to co-host a progam with a stellar line-up of leading China focused venture capitalists and Chinese entrepreneurs. Alex Vieux, is the chairman for the event and he's also the publisher and CEO of Red Herring. The Silicon Valley publication has understandably focused on Asian VC developments and entrepreneurship for sometime. This link-up with Hwa Yuan reinforces the importance of the China VC trends. Hua Yuan Venture Capital Group (HVCG) is a premier network of reputable venture capitalists with strong interests in China-related investment opportunities. HVCG provides a platform for its members to exchange information, share knowledge and leverage resources. It also provides entrepreneurs and executives with the opportunities to network with VCs and access valuable VC resources. Since its inception, HVCG has served members through numerous events and activities, such as networking events, deal flow event for VCs, and venture discussion forums. Currently, HVCG has over 150 VC firms as members including 3i, Accel, Red Point, Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins (KPCB), DCM, and IDG.
It's newsworthy that Red Herring's latest issue focuses on the Top 100 Private Companies of Asia. What's impactful is that there are 41 Chinese companies identified on this newly compiled list, including stellar performers like; Alibaba.com, Augumentum, Beijing Lingtu Software,Bocom Digital, Beijing Xonwei and Apexone Microelectronics to name but a few.
Sure not all of these companies were born out of China's science parks, but many were. It's apparent that some extensive research may be in the works to better assess these technology ventures which are located in technology zones. CVN hopes to have more news on the successes/failures of these Chinese technology ventures.
