PE Hub is reporting that Shanghai-based Profex Inc. has gotten hold of $15.5 million in first round venture capital funding.

Profex is a dermatology startup in China. The funding round was co-led by trident Capital and its Chinese affiliate Mustang Ventures.

Trident Capital estimates that dermatology and skin care market in China is worth $1.3 billion and is growing by 20% per year. Trident Capital has about $1.5 billion in funds currently under management.

Mustang Ventures has 10 years of investment experience in China and is focused on early stage development.
