P2P Sites Rake in Dough

A recent rumor reported by Pacific Epoch has cause two different blogs to look at peer-to-peer file sharing in China.
NewTeeVee is one of the sites that covered the rumor. Pacific Epoch is reporting that P2P outfit Xunlei is looking for $100 million as a final round of VC funding before its anticipated IPO late this year. It's already eaten $30 million in VC funds. Among the investors is Google...

P2Pon is also reporting on the rumor (and on the larger P2P situation in China). The gist of the stories is that P2P filing sharing is popular in China, and that the companies involved (for example PPLive, PPStream, QQLive, PPFilm, Tudou and UUSee) are making big renminbi off of advertising as a result.
