Motorola Ventures Invests with Shanghai's New Margin

Motorola Ventures, the venture capital arm of Motorola, the global telecom giant has invested in NewMargin Venture Capital Enterprise (Shanghai NewMargin), Shenzhen Shenxun Information Technology Development Co. Ltd. (SXIT) and Legend Silicon Corp., parent company of Legend Silicon Beijing (Legend Silicon).
NewMargin originally had a fund of US$35 million and was supported initially by Motorola. The highly touted VC firm has invested in several firms, including NASDAQ-listed Chinese telecom solution provider AsiaInfo.
More recently, Pacific Epoch reports that Chengdu based online gaming company Happy Digital and ranked as one of China's top fee-based online games, will receive a $2.5 million in venture capital injection by the end of the month. The bulk of the investment will come from Shanghai New Margin and Motorola. Happy Digital operates HanbitSoft, the wildly popular multiplayer online game, "With your destiny." Global investors take note, another gaming IPO is anticipated before year end.
