Juren Education Group Gets $20 Million for After School Tutoring

As a service industry, on-demand education and training is in its infancy in the People's Republic. But growing personal income and a demand for skilled labor have combined to make education a growth industry.

The funding came from Qiming Venture Partners. QVP is linked to the American firm Ignition Partners as well as to SIG in China. Juren has over 100 learning centers in Beijing, Shanghai, and a handful of other major cities in China. The firm tutors primarily in math, Chinese composition, and English but offers other subjects as well. Its students range in age from infants to 18.
