Cisco Embraces Go West China Investment Strategy

Academic Phil Lin keeps current on China tech investments. Cisco has quietly announced that it is seeking to fund companies with its $200 million venture fund. In an article in Forbes, Cisco will send its investment teams to "West China" as opposed to examing tech companies along the key coastal cities. Of course, this is part of the Cisco investment continum since it has already invested over $300 in 30 Chinese enterprises. The company also has opened a research and development center in Shanghai, China.
Expect a steady stream of press releases from Cisco about their investments into West China soon.
